IMPORTANT PARTICIPANT SAFETY NOTICE

Fencing is a structured combat sport involving metal weapons, protective equipment, close contact with others and strict safety instructions.

Knightsbridge Fencing Club provides mainstream group instruction; our coaches are not special-education teachers, behavioural therapists, medical practitioners or providers of one-to-one care.

Every child must be able to understand and consistently follow instructions, stop immediately when directed, remain within the training area, control their behaviour and impulses, handle equipment safely, communicate pain or distress and participate without continuous individual supervision.

Parents must fully disclose any diagnosed or suspected medical, developmental, behavioural, sensory, learning, communication or psychological condition that may affect the child’s ability to follow safety instructions, control their behaviour, handle fencing equipment or participate safely in a group.

Parents must also explain how the condition affects their child and disclose any support they receive at school, in sport or elsewhere. Providing only the name of a diagnosis is not sufficient.

All bookings are provisional.

The Club may require further information, an assessment or medical clearance and may decline, suspend or discontinue participation if a child cannot meet these requirements or their needs cannot be safely supported within the group programme.

HEALTH, SAFETY AND SUPPORT INFORMATION

Please disclose any medical condition, allergy, injury, medication requirement, developmental, behavioural, sensory, learning, communication or psychological condition that may affect your child’s safe participation or the safety of other participants, coaches or staff.

Please explain how it affects your child, any emergency action required and any support they receive at school, in sport or elsewhere. Please also confirm whether your child ordinarily requires a learning-support assistant, shadow teacher, carer or continuous one-to-one supervision.

By booking or participating in any session, activity, trial, camp, competition, event, or programme organised by Knightsbridge Fencing Club Dubai, I confirm that I have read, understood, and agree to comply with the Club’s full Policies & Participation Agreement available on the Club website.

I acknowledge that fencing and related sporting activities involve physical exertion and inherent risks of injury, accident, or physical harm. Participation is voluntary and all participants are expected to follow Club safety instructions, operational procedures, safeguarding measures, venue rules, and equipment requirements at all times.

I confirm that the participant is medically fit to participate and that any medical condition, injury, illness, allergy, or medication relevant to safe participation has been disclosed to the Club. Participants must not attend sessions while experiencing symptoms of a contagious illness or while under the influence of medication or substances that may impair safe participation.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, I voluntarily assume the risks associated with participation and waive and release Knightsbridge Fencing Club Dubai, its coaches, staff, representatives, volunteers, venue providers, and partner facilities from liability arising from participation in Club activities.

I understand that fees are non-refundable and non-transferable once a term or booking has commenced unless otherwise agreed by the Club in writing.

I acknowledge that sessions may occasionally be modified, rescheduled, relocated, combined, paused, shortened, or delivered in alternative formats where reasonably necessary due to operational or exceptional circumstances.

The Club reserves the right to refuse, suspend, cancel, or discontinue participation where behaviour, communication, or conduct is considered unsafe, abusive, disruptive, or not in the best interests of the Club community.

I consent to the collection and processing of personal and medical information for operational, safeguarding, safety, and booking purposes in accordance with the Club’s Privacy Policy.
